Standard 7: Planning for Instruction
DESCRIPTION
This artifact is a detailed pacing guide for Quarter Two of the 25-26 school year. It breaks down weekly lesson topics, learning targets, instructional strategies, assessment points, GLOs, and National Visual Arts Standards across different photography levels. I designed this guide to intentionally sequence learning experiences across courses and grade levels –– using differentiated instruction, formative and summative assessments, and student-centered approaches to keep all learners engaged and supported.

JUSTIFICATION & REFLECTION
This artifact shows how I plan instruction with intention to support all students in meeting challenging learning goals. It reflects the way I sequence projects, scaffold skills, and integrate both formative and summative assessments. By clearly defining learning targets and connecting lessons to real-world experiences –– like portfolio preparation and client-based assignments –– students can engage deeply with the content while developing their technical, creative, and professional skills. Through this process, I learned that detailed long-term planning allows me to anticipate student needs, adjust instruction as necessary, and provide opportunities for students to build technical, creative, and professional skills. Moving forward, I will continue refining my planning by analyzing student outcomes, incorporating feedback, and seeking ways to make learning experiences more relevant and engaging for every learner.
